About Attleborough Day Centre
Opened in September 1994, this service is available to older people living alone or needing a high level of support from their families. The aim of the Centre is to provide high quality Day Care, assisting people to remain living at home and/or to provide a break for family members who otherwise give care.
The Centre is open on Mondays and Wednesdays for 50 weeks of the year (with the exception of Bank Holidays) and provides care for up to 25 people per day. On Tuesday the Centre caters for up to 16 people needing a higher level of care. Various optional outings (usually one per month) are arranged each year at additional cost. On these days the Centre itself is not open.
Facilities at the Centre
The building was designed with Day Care in mind. The main hall is ample, providing space for dining and leisure pursuits.
The kitchen is fully equipped to satisfy the necessary regulations and a freshly cooked midday meal is provided.
The toilet facilities include a disabled toilet and a specially equipped bathroom provides a bathing facility for those who need assistance.
Management and Accountability
Attleborough Day Centre is a Charitable Trust and the running of the Centre is supervised by the Management Committee. The Centre is run in accordance with Norfolk County Council Social Services ‘Service Specification for Day Care’.
Trustees, Staff and Volunteers are subject to regular CRB checks.
