BERGH APTON NEEDS A NEW VILLAGE HALL

Following the AGM on 16th May the full committee met on 13th June and restructuring was agreed, with the formation of four sub committees comprising Business, Fund Raising, Maintenance and New Build. Each of the sub committees and groups are able to co - opt persons to assist

The Village survey will shortly be hand delivered to every house in the village. It is important to have the views of as many residents as possible. The questionnaire will be collected by a member of the team.

Two grants have already been applied for, but regrettably we have been unsuccessful with reference to one of them. The other application is ongoing and further applications are under investigation and will be undertaken within the next few months. A sub group are researching Grants and if there are any of you out there who can offer advice or links to Grant organisations then please email Sally Leigh spleigh@totalise.co.uk. She would be most grateful for any ideas.

There is further reference to fund raising below

The Business sub committee has met and a Business Plan is being written which will form the basis of our grant applications.

The other sub committees / groups are expected to be up and running within the next few weeks.

EXCITING FUND RAISING FOR NEW VILLAGE HALL Vision 50 (the new Village Hall project) is in full swing. Evy Sayer is in charge of Fund Raising along with Alison Bertram – who could say No! to these two ladies!

The first major event to put in your diaries is an Auction of Promises on Friday 12th October this year. Evy and Alison will be twisting your arms for Promises. Evy says “we already have a promise of a Day’s Ferreting, a ride in a classic car, and a gentleman in this village has offered to do a basket of ironing”. So what can you offer – a home-made cake a month, a car valet session, a tour of your firm’s building, the options are endless.

In the future we are planning a Treasure Trail, a Silver Mile (save your 5p coins) Christmas Bingo, Buy-a-Brick and many other exciting events.

If you can promise something for the Auction or if you have any ideas for future fund raising please talk to Evy on 558511 or Alison on 558511. For further information on Bergh Apton visit http://www.berghapton.org.uk
