NR21 0 Oil bulk-buying scheme
Norfolk Rural Community Council is working with Anglian Farmers (AF Affinity) to enable more people to take advantage of the discounts available from one of the largest agricultural purchasing groups. One of these initiatives, Thinking…Fuel, is a bulk-buying scheme for oil (other fuel is also available) which aims to provide rural communities with cheaper fuel which is particularly important in these economically difficult times.
Kettlestone Parish Council set up such a scheme in July 2011. Although the partnership is unable to guarantee to offer the lowest price, in the six months June to November 2011, the average saving for AF Affinity scheme members was 11% compared to an average UK price (i.e. £67 for every 1,000 litres).
The bulk-buying fuel scheme is open to anyone over 16 living in the area with the postcode ‘NR21 0..’. To take advantage of the scheme you will need to
• complete a registration form (available from the co-ordinator: Clerk to Kettlestone and Little Snoring Parish Councils tel: 01328 822366 or E-mail: littlesnoringpc@googlemail.com )
• return the form to the co-ordinator or to NRCC (address on form)
• call 01603 881 888 (AF Affinity) to place your order or to check prices.
The bulk-buying saving comes from a combination of the overall purchasing power of AF Affinity and co-ordinating orders within the local group to the 1st of a month.
