This scheme was instigated in 2003 by the Burnham Market Surgery and the Countryside Agency and came into being in 2004 with the support of local Parish Councils.

The only paid member of BMACCS is the Co-ordinator, Mrs Daphne Potter, who can be contacted Monday to Friday from 10.00am to 12.30pm on: 01485 525511. The postal address is: Holme Village Hall, Kirkgate Street, Holme-next-Sea, Hunstanton, Norfolk PE36 6LH. At least 24 hours notice is required.

The main villages covered by BMACCS are: Brancaster; Brancaster Staithe; Burnham Deepdale; Burnham Market; Burnham Norton; Burnham Overy Town; Burnham Overy Staithe; Burnham Thorpe; Holme; North Creake; South Creake; Stanhoe; Thornham. Titchwell and Wells. (There are two other Community Car Schemes in the nearby area - Heacham and District, and Great Massingham).

We operate during daylight hours, mainly week-days, and travel to Hospitals - Queen Elizabeth, Norfolk and Norwich, Cromer, Wells, Papworth, Addenbrookes etc.; GP Surgeries - Burnham Market, Fakenham, Hunstanton, Wells etc. Our journeys are mainly health-related which also include dentists, physiotherapists, opticians etc. but we also do the odd regular local shopping trips.

The passengers pay 40p per mile to and from their door with a minimum charge of £2. Return mileage from the driver's home to the passenger's home is again 40p per mile which comes out of BMACCS funds.

We are totally relianct on funding from Burnham Market Surgery, local Parish Councils, Norfolk County Council, Kings Lynn and West Norfolk Borough Council, various other sources, fund raising etc.
