There may be opportunities for planting new woodlands or hedges, or for managing existing areas more effectively.

In terms of planting a good place to start is Norfolk County Council's Countryside Grants Scheme which, as well as providing grants for ponds, hedgerows, woodlands, orchards and other projects, also provides advice on what to plant and where to obtain the planting stock. More information can be found on the conservation page of the Norfolk County Council website

As well as Norfolk County Council, information, grants and advice can be found on the Woodland Trust's Community Woodland Network website which was established specifically to help communities with projects to establish new woodlands. Other places to look include the Forestry Commission who also administer the English Woodland Grant Scheme

The Norfolk Wildlife Trust also has information leaflets.
