Jon Clemo
From Norfolk RCC
As well as overseeing the organisations operational delivery and developing strategy I also sit on a large number of different partnership bodies including the county strategic partnership and a number of LSPs.
Originally born and brought up in Norfolk I moved away to complete my undergraduate degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics. Whilst at university I was heavily involved in the university union primarily through the management of the technical side of events. After completing my degree I started work as a professional fundraiser on behalf of (among others) Amnesty International and the British Red Cross before moving to Poland to teach English as a foreign language.
I returned to Norfolk in 2005 to complete my masters in Development Economics and it was then that I began working for Norfolk RCC first as grant support officer, then on completion of my MA, delivering the community buildings services project. From there I took on team management responsibilities before being appointed Deputy CEO in 2008 and then Chief Executive in 2009.
Outside of work I enjoy travel and have recently returned from India. I am also a keen Tae Kwon-do enthusiast. From my academic study I retain a strong interest in international development as well as in the way knowledge and information are transferred. I undertake a variety of volunteer activities including being a trustee of the Barlow Charity. With the time left (and there usually is some) I enjoy socialising with friends and can often be found unwinding with a pint of real ale and some good locally sourced food.
