My Role
As Field Officer for West Norfolk and Breckland I advise and support parish and community groups in small rural villages. The core of my work is Parish Plans and I am currently working with six Steering Groups who are producing Parish Plans on behalf of their communities. I also give advice on Village Halls, funding and project management.
I also lead the NRCC team supported by the Rural Social and Community Programme in Norfolk, which includes a Rural Housing Enabler, Enterprise Officer, Access Officer and Community Development Officer.
My Background
I joined the NRCC in June 2004, having previously worked for the RSBP as a project officer in Lincolnshire. An interesting undetaking for someone who lives in Norfolk - I got to know the A17 very well indeed.
I am what is politely called a community activist. I have recently stepped down from my Parish Council, after more years than I care to remember, but I remain the representative for ten parishes in north west Norfolk on the Core Management Group of the North Norfolk Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
My Interests
Community activism has been a major interest in my life, but also value spending time with family and friends and love gardening, walking, reading and travelling.
